Hello, was wondering if could get some advice re wax pots? I was told to buy Babyliss 500cc (smallest size) hot wax. I am confused. Does Babyliss make the brand Satin Smooth, or other way round? When buying wax for this brand, do you have to break the wax up, then put in pot, or does it come in a cylinder form and drops straight into the pot? Just want for home and unsure what and where best to obtain from. Thank you. Ellie.

I'm a bit confused by your post. I take it you mean that you have the 500cc Babyliss Satin Smooth wax pot? Do you already have wax for it?

I googled the SS wax and I'm not sure which one you're planning on using. Is it the hard wax, the white one? If so, this comes in beads (like my perron rigot hot wax) so you just put in as many as you need into your heater and top it up as necessary.

Other hot waxes can come in blocks (normally they're ridged so they're easy to break or are small blocks). Also, I have seen some hot waxes that come in pots and normally you can put these straight into your heater. Although if you only have a 500cc heater, they may be too big to fit in and you'll have to decant.

oh and re the brand, from googling, the pic of the wax says "Satin Smooth by Babyliss Pro" on it.

Thanks very much Salj. Having bit trouble navigating round site. Just want to say your info was helpful tome and I appreciated. Was researching really, have no wax or pot as yet. Ellie.

The brand of the wax heater doesn't mean that you have to use that brand of wax. Just follow the directions on your wax as to how to heat it etc.

Most wax heaters are shopped in from abroad and different companies put their name on them. HTH's. x
