hey
I want to use 8.81 on a client but it doesn’t go grey enough but 7.89 is to dark... new to hairdressing so can I mix them both together to darken the tone a tiny bit like a few blobs of 7.89 into 8.81?
Thanks in advance

Mixology. ;)
It’s really handy to practise mixing formulas using different proportions of tint to get a bespoke colour. I like to practise on hair swatches, either bought ones or some I’ve made from off cuts of hair attached to foil with a bit of sticky tape.

Just remember to accurately write up your notes so that you can replicate the results next time.

When mixing colours, you need to consider first the level and then the position of the tones and remember that quantity of pigment will be greater in the darker levels and that the primary tone will be stronger than the secondary tone.

This is great thread to get you started into the principles of colour mixing. There are others too if you have a search.

Hope this helps.

Also, I recommend using some really accurate scales to weigh the colour and peroxide rather than guessing.
