i have ordered a box of wellastrate mild to be delivered tomorrow as my aunty is in need of some chemical straightening and extreme frizz reducing, i was told to buy the mild solution as she has coloured and highlighted hair.

i was just wondering if anyone uses or has used this product and could run through the steps of application for me?
i know the instructions will tell me but i have seen that some people use straighteners and some don't, and if you do, do you need the iron solution too?

Any advice greatly appreciated :)

anyone??

Someone must have used it at some point? :)

I haven't used this for about 5 years. There are instructions that come with it but I would be very wary using it without any training. It's really potent stuff and I have seen it smoking in a previous salon I worked in. I use the keratin blow dry now and it's a lot less damaging than wellastrate and you don't get regrowth. I hope it all goes well, but I personally wouldn't use it again. X

Thanks, im sure they would have adapted their formulas in the last 5 years but i'll look out for any signs of smoking.....i do keratin blow-drys too but they don't straighten now and the client i'm doing has really curly hair so this may not completely straighten it but a Brazilian blow dry would just take the frizz away....and it costs a lot more too :)

I just alway found it chemically damages the hair a lot more and dries it out. So if it's extreme frizzyness you want to control a brazilian blow dry would be more beneficial. X

I did the Straightening this afternoon and was actually suprised how good the condition of the hair was after i'd finished...it almost seemed better!

I do brazillian blow dry's however, as they no longer help reduce curl, it wasn't really worth doing one of them :)

That's really good, like i said I haven't used it for ages! I might have a look now!x

I know! i was really surprised!

Just out of interest....what brand of brazillian blow dry do you use?

We use La Brasiliana at the moment, looking to change I think when this one is finished. What do you use?x

I use Keratin Revolution....Well i say that, i've bought the starter kit, and i'm doing my first trial run on monday, i think its one of the cheapest on the market, but at the same time, i have only heard good things about it :)
