I'm hoping to take on St Tropez spray tan. I'm a bit concerned because I've read that people have had allergies to it as in the kind of allergies where you've got rashes all over the body (think it might have been on here that I read it but some stuff came up from doing a google search too).

I'm going to have a patch test soon from a friend who also uses St Tropez. Should this be enough to rule out whether or not I am allergic to it? If I am allergic to it, would I still be able to carry the treatment out on clients as long as I'm careful?

I am fine with Fake Bake and Skin Truth. Have had some lovely tans from these brands with no problems to my skin at all so I'm hoping that St Tropez will be ok too(?!) as this is definitely the brand I want to go with. Don't want to get patch tested only to find out that I'm allergic to it later on once I've opened an account and my whole body's covered in it when I train. I'm allergic to some gel nail brands and I have to avoid these entirely otherwise I get a full body rash for a week just from touching it with my fingers.

I don't want to rely on anti-histamines and it is St Tropez I want to go with. I also know that the only way I'll find out if I'm allergic is via a patch test but all the same it would help to know what people think the odds are on here, even though it is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string!

In the mean time I will see if I can get an ingredients list to compare with brands that I'm currently familiar with.

Over to you :)

I think you're over thinking it .. I use St.Tropez and yes I do have people who have reacted to it so have a 2nd brand as an alternative for them but I patch test everyone anyways just to be on the safe side as you never know who will react to what.

Get your patch test done and take it from there.
If you react work with what you already have and if you don't all the better.
