Hi all,
I went for an interview at a salon on Saturday only to be told it would be an apprentice wage. I should have asked them but what is the average? I have seen £75 - £120 a week. Also I am 29 and have paid the full price for my course (I aren't on benefits so it has cost me a lot of money) if your over 19 years old, do the salons pay the college fees? I don't think I will get the job as they were looking for full time work really and me being full time at college 2 days a week means I could only work 3 days a week, as they close on Mondays. This may be a silly question but was just wondering. Think I may do a voluntary day a week in a salon so I hit the ground running when I am qualified. Just a little nervous as this course is costing me and my partner a lot and I will be devastated if I qualify and then can't get a job as it has taken a lot of guts to retrain in something I have always wanted to do. Anyone had a similar experience and can give some advice. I live in Colchester, Essex if anyone has a salon who would like a trusty voluntary junior one day a week.
