I am hoping to do a spray tanning course in September and then Gel and Acrylic nails in October with a view to going mobile part time :green: I found two training academies in Cardiff which offer all three so I'm just gathering some more info on these at the moment.
Have you tried Triniti in Cardiff?, Vanessa and Mike are lovely.

I am doing facial training, eye & brow treatments and intimate waxing courses with ZoZo and Nfu Oh design Sculpture with Viv Simmonds and Catherine Wong in Sept.
In Oct I will be doing the Environ facial course.

So looking forward to it all!!

Hi, yes Vanessa messaged me when I made a thread a few day's ago, they are one of the one of the two options I'm considering along with a training place called Salon West :)

This very week I'm at the Decleor training centre in London updating my body treatmets, which are fantastic. Yesterday & today was the full body Aromassage with warm balms drizzled over the body, tomorrow is body wraps, then localised body treatments, and then the pregnancy treatments. Then I finally get to learn the new Red Island ritual with body scrub & massage with balms using both hands & a special wooden massager! What a lovely way to spenf the week!

Martin, that sounds gorge!!!

I'm doing Dermalogica Clean Start training on Monday. I love going there. It is soooo inspiring. Definitely gives me a boost.

I'd love to learn threading at some point. Calgel too. Oh yeah and all Kim's waxing courses!!! I wax now, but i don't do intimate male waxing or full hollywoods for women.

Sigh...if only i had a money tree!!!

Ooh that sounds amazing. :)

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I REALLY, REALLY wish I lived nearer to you so I could sample some of your treatments. :green:

i've gone into the vtct level 3 theatrical and media make up i am loving it, i am also doing further training into nails 'acrylic nail design etc... :)

You're too kind! I've just finished my week's training; such a luxury getting to have a week of swap treatments & it's reminded me of just how gorgeous Decleor treatments & products are!

If you can find somewhere locally that does the new Decleor Red Island Ritual you have to try it - it's the best treatment I've ever had! The exfoliator is gorgeous and smells of apricot museli bars, and the application method is like a massage. Then after it's removed there's the most beautiful slow massage using 100% natural aromatherapy balms & the massage uses both the hands & this wooden massager, but you would't know it wasn't the therapists hands. It's only an hours treatment but it completely wiped the whole lot of us out - it felt like I'd had a 2 hour massage!

Now I'm looking forwards to putting all my new body treatments into practice - all 17 of them!

well after initially saying at the start of this thread that I didnt want to do another full year course I have decided to enrol on a level 2 beauty therapy course at college, 2 evenings a week. Next year I am going to do the level 3 makeup, couldve done it this year but thought made more business sense to do my beauty therapy course first. So I start this tuesday evening, hopefully  lately whenever I arranged to do owt it gets cancelled so i am not tempting it.

Even though its my most local college I have not done any courses there but i was well impressed with the facilities much better than other colleges I been to. cos I am a teacher and I had a horrible thought that I would be learning with ex students from my local comprehensive I taught at a few years back now. Don't get me wrong i loved the kids, well most  just wouldnt wanna be in the situation where i was a learner as well, i mean imagine how i would feel during learning bikini wax   lol

On the 25th I start my millinery course at a college in huddersfield, very excited about this cos I love hats. also doing my cnd masters (on hold at moment), some waxing with kim in oct and another course with sam biddle in oct also. not forgetting the cnd mentor days. In the new year I really want to do the HD Brows course, looks so cool, I am supposed to be a model soon, so I'll let you know how it goes. I also would love to do a bridal hair course, Indian Head Massage eventually.

so that should keep me pretty busy!

Hey guys!!

Hope you are all well!

Not been on for a while!!

Well, I am finally (sooooooooooo happily) doing my Theatrical & Media makeup course, which I have been trying to do for 3 years!!! (3rd year lucky)

I am soooooo happy to be doing it - only started last Mon, and we didn't really do anything that evening as it was just induction etc, but we are doing casualty makeup next week - I am soooooo happy and excited about it all!!!

Will be loving every second!

Yaaay! :)

Hellooo :)

I was going to do my Brisa conversion course (even though I'm CND L&P trained) but have decided to leave that until the New Year and concentrate on getting my Pre-Masters, Masters Troubleshooting and Masters Application Liquid & Powder done before Christmas - if it's possible!

I've decided I really want to teach people how to apply, remove and look after nails properly and become decent Nail Technicians. You hear so many horror stories about how people remove nails (screwdrivers and tongue to pop them off, nail tools underneath and wiggle them off, spare nail tips, bus timetables, credit cards! - what are these people thinking!!??), what they use to keep tips on (i.e superglue)!! And 'roughing up' the nail plate? What's that all about!!??? (I do know really - inferior products :))

Anyway, I'm on a mission to educate myself to a high standard so I can then educate others to a high standard.

Long live education!!!

Just started my NVQ level 3 in customer services!

I have a client who is an NVQ person & she suggested it, as it was everything I already do & so I thought - why the hell not!!!

I'll tell you one thing - it certainly makes you analize your business and how you treat your customers - very interesting & very informative & very - 'Oooh, I must do that, I never thought of that??!!'

See.......it's not 'Nail Related' as a certificate, but it is generic & by god, do you look at what you do! therfor , it's a good qualification to have - as it does fit in on the buisiness side of things.

That actually sounds really good Bev!

Currently studying biology, religion and computers. Next autumn term I'll take a foundation year at university on biology. For summer I might do alternative medicine and more religion.

Oh, are we talking about beauty educations? I'm thinking about taking a foundation course with CND.

Was supposed to be going to Uni to study Bsc Hons Complementary Medicine (Reflexology) but the course was cancelled!!! But am going to book a hot stone course at the end of the month, that's for January, have also booked for early next year colour therapy, hand reflexology and seated massage (short courses, hopefully these won't be cancelled again like last year) :(

i wasnt going to do any more courses in the new year so i could just work on what i have already learned this past year...but....
i think i'll do a few more courses to learn further from the ones i've done, that way my other half cant moan that i'm off learning something new again, i wont- i'll be perfecting areas i've already began learning!
So, im thinking a couple of 121's, pop-its and sculpting are on my list of things to do for this year, if i have got the hang and am happy with my L+P by the end of the year then hopefully i'll move into brisa aswell and maybe i'll learn some nail art techniques too....i could go on forever with things i want to learn!

aside from CND foundation in the new year hopefully, I'm just about to start my second year on my business degree with the open university
