Hey, ive got a small salon in a little village in leeds. I was just trying to get some ideas on the best way to advertise? Can anyone help?

Do not hurry with this.
Look at who your target demographic is and work out from that where you should advertise.
For instance, my target client is 30 plus, with a high disposable income, who wants to take care of their skin in a private, discreet, luxury setting.
I'm not looking for young girls who want the cheapest possible set of nails and who think Barry m is the height of sophistication.
So, I advertise in the local public prep school's magazine, and it brings me a lot of business.
On the whole do not advertise with anyone who cold calls you, and heaven's sake avoid the fire/police/ambulance etc wall planner ads people. They're full on scams!

Thanks :) that helps alot x

I think for hair and beauty word of mouth is the best possible advert especially in a small town. I recently opened a salon couple yrs ago and gave out recommend a friend discount cards, 10% off for client and a friend. If you have one happy client, you can quickly get few of her friends, sister, mum work colleagues and so on
