Hi everyone,
just wondering if anyone can shed any light on the new Charles worthington lightening spray ?
One of my clients had used this spray 3 times before I did her colour, it was quite damaged off it and she had awful root glow. I normally do a full head of foils powder and 4 % and tone it to a nice clean blonde.
Today, against my previous advice she had used it again a few times, he condition felt better and I did her colour, but today I was toning it down to a softer blonde as she was going on holiday, I used 7/3 30mls with 5ml of 8/73 with 1.9% in wella. It went purple within seconds !!! It only seemed to be around the areas where she would of sprayed it and the roots I lifted with powder and 4% and 12/11 9% were fine, I didn't overlap and her her hair was in good condition ????
I used the same toner yesterday on someone with a full head bleached head which was very porus and it was beautiful.
Could it be this spray reacting ??? I've heard it had caused foils to heat up a lot and damage hair because of reacting with products !
Thank you

it contains mineral salts. These react oddly with any oxidising colour. Before doing any colour, you must test for compatability first.
Had bleach get so hot it steamed with a similar product once, so be careful.

Thanks for your reply, I had heard that off an other stylist !!!
There's so much to look out for with all these products clients can now buy.

Do you mean john freida? Because I had a client use this (sent her roots orange) and before colouring her hair I rang john frieda help line and asked them if it contained metalic salts and they said it didn't, I did an incombatibility test and the result was fine so I hilighted her hair as normal and thankfully the colour came out ok!x

Hmmm it might of been, I get confused between the 2 :)
I had no problems with the colour I painted on her roots, in the foils, it was only when I applied the toner ???
Another stylist in my salon had the foils heat up, like said before, I'm sooo confused lol. In future I'll just be extra careful and do a test before.
My client has now informed me she's thrown it away lol xx
