Iv decided to have a career in nails. I'm wondering where the best place to start is? A few have recommended college and a lot have recommended 5 day courses? I would be interested in the 5 day courses...has anyone done one and if so who with?
I'm a bit lost at the moment!
Many thanks! X

Hi,
If this is your first step into the beauty industry then I would recommend that you do a College course at either level 2 or 3 in nails to get you started. Then after that I would suggest you complete a training course with the company you decide to go with.
At college you will get the weekly support of your tutor, opportunities to practice on 'real' clients under supervision and all the knowledge of health & safety, Client consultation, A&P and reception skills beside the actual treatment skills.

I agree with CFBS, the anatomy and physiology is very important to do, would recommend a college course first xx

I agree with both ladies, I completed my beauty therapy course at college and then went back and took a 5 day course to refresh a couple of years. Whilst the tutors at the day courses are really professional and good I don't feel that you would really learn all the essential bits needed In that sort of time . as CFBS also said , whilst your training at college you get to work on actual clients all the time so you get tons of experience before getting out and going it alone.

It would be your choice ultimately but id definatly opt for an actual college course if your just getting into it and have no previous experience with nails xx
