Right I’ve been doing acrylics now for 5 years and I’m still not at a standard I’m happy with. I’ve had training from NSI and CND and I still hate my work. I’m getting pretty exasperated with doing them.

I have had rubbish eyelash trying in the past and I didn’t realise it was rubbish until I went on an excellent lash course and now my eyelash extensions are famtastic and I do very well with them. I’m making a name for myself in my local area. So I’m just wondering am I just rubbish at acrylic nails or have I just not had the right training yet?

I wasn’t happy with the NSI training years ago and I wasn’t happy with the CND training that I have done either. The CND trainer was also quite bitchy and made me feel very uncomfortable asking for help. She really looked down her nose at my efforts.

I’m just waiting for a light bulb moment to go off, like it did when I had the amazing lash training. Can anyone recommend a good acrylic course that really helped it all to fall into place for them?

I would say a year course in college. If it was that easy to learn in a few days why would they have a course running for a year?

I think It’s an option but college like to pad things out with lots of stuff. I don’t think there is not 12mths of stuff to learn when it comes to acrylic nails. The theory and the process can be learned in a matter of weeks. What takes time is perfecting it to become good.

I agree ellidib, I did a years course but it's not a year. 7 training days but that was also to fit in gel and fibreglass. My acrylics are awful but I'm still in the middle of my course. I'd be interested to see any recommendations. Have you tried our gel or fibreglass, maybe you might get your light bulb moment with one of these. I love gel x
