Hi guys which techniques should I use for this?? I’m working on a level 8 ash tone and she just wants to warm it up. Was gonna just balayage it but I have to cover grey too! Would 8/7 work on the roots stretched into foils of balayage? Any help would be awesome! X

Is the clients hair naturally an ash 8?

Yes Hun it’s quite flat like a natural 8/0

In the picture it looks more like a 6 at the root, and then more like 8/7 on mid lengths and ends, with a few lighter sections running through
I would probably go with 6/0 on roots, or if you wanted something not quite as dark maybe use 7/17 with 6% and blend in to 8/7 6% with a few fine slices of 10/0 +12% . That's how I'd probably go around it anyway, I hope this helps!
