White spot on nail

I do my friends nails and have just removed gel polish and noticed a white spot on her nail. Does anyone know what may cause this. I think it's one of those white spots from trauma, as I have never noticed this before.

My vote is trauma, it's smack bang on the stress area so I think she's probably bashed it with extra length
