Hi, I'm studying for my level 2 beauty therapy course. I have a question that I have been stuck on for a while and I'm wondering if any of you could help me?

Why aren't these products suitable for certain clients?

- Cuticle massage cream
- Cuticle oil
- Hand exfoliator
- Foot exfoliator
- Foot lotion
- Hand mask
- Paraffin wax
- Foot soak
- Foot mask
- Nail varnish remover
- Top & Base coat

Have they not given you a txt book to go with your course? If so which one is it? Everything should be in there x

I think the first thing to write about would be allergies to certain ingredients potentially and sensitivity to heat.

You could create a table putting the products down the side and then have two columns - one for indications and the other for contra-indications.
This might help you think through when you would and when you wouldn't use them.
Just an idea...

Oh I think that’s the one I’ve got, I was going to mention it as I thought it would have it in there. I would think about what each one is being used for and have a look at your list of contra indications, I’d be thinking about allergies and how certain skin or nail conditions may cause you to think twice about using them x

Most of these would be unsuitable for any client with an open wound/rash or broken skin.
