work experience!

hi everyone, i am very new to this game and this is my first ever thread, hope it works ok!!
I have recently completed my creative conversion course with CND, and am strugling to get the practice in, finding it difficult to get friends and family to sit for 3 hours while i try and do a set of nails. they look ok when finished but really need to get the practise in, i was wondering if anyone out there in the gloucestershire area who uses CND products would be interested in taking me on for a little bit of work experience so i can gain some confidence (as i am getting a bit down with it! ) if anyone is interested i would really appreciate it, thanks xx

Hi Ginger...Welcome to the site, youl love it..!

Have you tryed a nail trainer..it means you can practice when you like and no one has to sit there for 3hours while your getting your time down.

Welcome Ginger.. Do you do your own nails? as I found this to be very beneficial...and crack on with that nail trainer, or do your friends friends need some nails

thanks for you help and ideas and for making me feel welcome have to admit this site is a life saver and have picked up so many tips already which have helped loads, i have booked a one to one training session for this monday and am really looking forward to it, this will help put a stop to any bad habits and give me a bit of confidence on what i am doing right!
Fab freak - have tried my own, slight problem my left hand looks great but my right (I am right handed) looks very lopsided!! thankyou anyway xx
The nail trainer idea is great i have looked into it but at the moment really cant afford it with my one to one training this month - a bit cheeky but does any one by any chance have a second hand one they would like to sell??

Hi Ginger - I'm just starting out with nails, I haven't even had my first day of being shown how to work with l&p yet - that's Tuesday so I'm looking forward to it. I live rurally and have only lived here for 4 years so my friends that would appreciate nails are all 50-70 miles away and the friends I have here are all horsey types who think that a permanent layer of black under the free edge is a fashion accessory.

In order to get the victims - sorry - models I need, I've booked the training room at my beauty wholesaler and advertised for models at the University, working on the principle that students will go for almost anything if it's free! The wholesaler is happy to let me have the room for a nominal sum as the students are likely to buy bits and pieces while they are in there.

Hi Ginger & welcome to the site.

The Gloucester Geek numbers are increasing Yeeaaaaa.. Great News.
The Uni idea is good, my mate is at the Oxstalls campus & Hartpury is not too far away though full of lots of horsey/farmer types, oh & sporty rugby players.

Anyhow as there's a few of us we could perhaps meet up & have a few practice sessions be it nail art, manicures or the full works, which for those of us who don't do many nails is well worthwhile.

hi guys, this idea of meeting up is a good one, i work part time 3 days a week and evenings so i can meet on my 2 days off in the week or at a week end, what ever suits, when are the rest of you free?

I work shifts of 6 on 3 off so say a date and I'll look in my diary.
I start my next 6 days on Tuesday, so the week after would be perfect?
