Working abroad

Hey Guys,

Has anyone gone to work abroad hairdressing?

I really want to go and work abroad possibly in Australia or failing that would love to work the cruise ships. I have my hairdressing qualifications up to NVQ level 3 but i'm struggling to find out any information on how to do it.

If anyone has any information that could help please let me know

Hi!!! I was in Brisbane Queensland for 10 months in 2013! It's so easy you will find that they LOVE British hairdressers over there.

It depends on where you plan on staying if you are going out to a hostel you can literally start applying for jobs as soon as you get there it's very easy! Good luck!

Hey i'm looking at going to Melbourne as I have friends over there I can stay with. Is the best way to just apply for a working visa and just apply whilst i'm out there?

Yes you can get a visa for about £150 I think? Once you get there you should find a job no problem!

It use to be Stieners (think that's how it's spelt) that provided hairdressers for ships they were based in London. This is going back 18 years though!! That's just made me feel old......
I got a job with them but didn't stick it out as it was all about selling products rather than hairdressing.
