Working before qualified?

Hey, I'm new to this thread so please bare with me

I'm currently studying level 2 hair and I will qualify in July. However, I've been asked to do my friend's daughter's prom hair before I'm qualified.

It got me thinking - would I be able to advertise hair ups before I'm qualified? I love doing up dos and it would be good experience.

However I'm assuming I won't be able to get insurance? All my electricals are PAT tested already.

So my question is, can I work just doing updos/hair styling without a level 2 qualification?

You might be able to buy student insurance that should cover you. Also, if your tutors have passed you for your styling unit, that might be good enough for the insurance company.

Thank you! I've got my last assessment & exam next week then I will have passed the unit. I think I'm going to go for it x
