I did three of my four day brisa foundation course 2 weeks ago, day four tomorrow, which is when i have my written test and i am really struggling with revising. I havent done any kind of written test since i was at school (many moons ago) and i wasnt any good at anything written then. I just cant remember all these long words and each of the meanings,

Pathogens, Chemophobia, msds, Eponychium and Hyponychium to name but a few....I cant say them let alone tell you what they mean.

I really have tryed hard and had them all stuck around the house for 2 weeks but it just wont go in and stay there.

If anyone can help i would appriciate any advise, how many questions are there, is it multiple choice, WHAT ARE THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS. ok i know the last one was cheating but really, am i stressing to much or is it really going to be as bad as i think.

Hiya,

Firstly, good luck!

Second, not sure how much can help before tomorrow....

How about trying word association? Stuff like: Metacarpals & carpals vs Metatarsals & tarsals - which is hand and which is foot?
When you drive a CAR you have your metaCARpals on the steering wheel, when you walk, you have your metaTARsals on the TARmac.

Trying to think of some that would help with eponychium/hyponychium but not having much luck...
Try printing out a drawing of the hand/nail plate and label it, this will help confirm what you know so you can concentrate the revision on what you're not sure of.

I'm sure you'll be fine, try not to let the nerves get to you.

Let us know how you get on.

hiya thanks for replying,, i have tryed doing that but then i cant remember what my accociated word was, i am one of these people who puts something in a safe place then forgets where the safe place is.

I tryed to remember Pathogen by thinking of b i g (big frindly giant) but replaced the g (giant) with v for virus so reminding myself that b was for bactira and f was for fungi but then i forgot the word pathogen, ohhhh i am driving myself mad here.

I can remember every step of the prep and application of brisa no problem because its a practicle meathod that i am actually doing but when its just remembering words and meanings i just get brain mush.

I'll keep trying and let you know how i get on, thanks again xxx

angie have u tried writing out some questions for yourself? It really works for me. That way when u try the answers you find out what u really do and dont know. Apart from that try relax tonight, don't revise too late...hot bath and plenty rest and all the best for tomorrow...i bet you will be just fine x :)
