Hi there guys, looking for a bit of help. Basically, I was going away for the weekend & was in a rush, so used a black Live XXL colour on my hair, very stupidly. Its been months and it's not for growing out at all , so I was wondering how on earth can I get this stuff out of my hair, without killing it. I'm thinking of lightening my hair, or maybe going black again - but this time going to the salon like I should have in the first place !

Thanks in advance x

This stuff is my enemy it's silicone based believe it or not even bleach won't move it a it goes either pink dark orange with still bits of black in. I got loads of clients think that it just a removal jobby it's a nightmare. This rubber gunk should be banned. This is going to have to grow out depending if there's fading. Just an idea before I go. Try majicontrast red as there's no pre bleach involved then you can top it with a brown chestnut just an idea from charts.

I doubt even maji contrast would work tbh. From memory it's to be used from base 5 and up. I hate the XXL colours, real pain to try and remove yet so many people use them. Gah!

I hate them too! Ive had a massive influx of colour corrections as of late, im gona recommend that you just get a pro to do it, its such a pain and bleeding time consuming! Well worth it in the end but im sure you've learnt ya lesson! xoxo

Definately have ! Won't be using it again that's for sure.

Yeah tried head and shoulders and it's made no difference at all, apart from making my hair dryer than normal !
Basically, the front of my hair is still black, but the underneath has a bit of root growth and the back area ir sort of reddy browny black if that makes sense. It's a mess to put it simply.

The only thing i'm worried about is damaging my hair further, so what kind of process would a professional use if I go to the hairdressers ? x

Vozene!! Medicates shampoo

Tried vosene and head and shoulders, and there's been no difference with either of them at all :-(

Nothing budges the dreaded xxl hate that stuff with a passion!
Grow it out, or wait for it to fade! Which from experience with people I know who has it, it don't!! Especially the black :(
Sorry I know it's not really want u wanna hear xxx

Go to a salon and let them have a look. They will tell you your options.

go to a reputable salon. Explain what you've used and what your desired colour is.
A good salon will take test cuttings of your hair and try different techniques to find the best way of removing the colour.

Then you and the salon can make a decision of whether it will damge your hair to much, leave you with a good colour and whether it's worth going a head with

We took test cutting today in our london based salon with another client and the silicone in the xxl fizzed like champagne. I work with colour specialist and they can't budge it. Even if you bleach it the silicone hold and protects the colour and it turns pink.
