I wonder if I'll have more luck with this on NNO than NSI Builder gel that I'm using?

Anyone used it on cleaners, that say they use gloves but don't ;) ?

Lord, more expense lolol

With mani q you do not build an apex, so are 2 completely diffrent products! I would say find a brand you like all systems and then do a conversion with them.
With young nails they teach the reverse technique which is something they are well known for! All you do by buying lots of things from different people is create problems and expense ( I learnt the hard and expensive way)
For any brand you use you need to be shown how to use it correctly otherwise you will lose clients very quickly.
I think you would find it more productive to phone the brands you are considering using ask loads of questions and then do a conversion with them!

I have found that mixing in China Glaze or Color Club Polish for creating colors with Mani-Q works best for me. Quicker drying brands like OPI cause the Mani-Q to get thick and makes it streak. I get best results mixing mine 50/50.

Also, I can only keep small amounts of the Mani-Q polish colors I mix as they start to thicken in the pots and damage the integrity of the Mani-Q application. Hope this is helpful to you, and keeps you from wasting as much product as I went through to learn these tips.

I am new to this site, and have already gotten a lot of good advice from reading the threads. Thanks to all who are sharing their experiences.

BTW, you will find application and curing instructions for the Mani-Q polish you mix on the Young Nails site.

Hi Mani Q Geeks!

Right, I did my first mani q nno with the polish mix on sat.
Had a slight problem, I followed the instructions to the letter but when i clensed after curing final coat for 3 mins some of the colour faded. Luckily i had only clensed 1 hand when this happened so i buffed over, re applied, then applied a layer of seche gel lacquer top coat after curing colour, cured for 3 and this worked well.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this prob and found it better to top coat? x

Yes, I always top coat everything. Seems that the sticky residue that is always removed by cleansing is uncured product. If that last coat is a color coat, then we lose a bit of the color product along with the sticky part.

So I just developed the habit of doing one last thin coat of clear UV gel that doesn't have to be cleansed for the final shine. The non-cleansing type of top coat saves time and gives me the smoothest finish, also.

Yeah I also found this when I went to cleanse the final layer with my gel wipe. Their Mani-q cleanser was out of stock so I bought IBD wipe that is used with their soak off gel. This was a little better but still not great and seems to remove the shine so i now finish with a final layer of clear mani-q to seal and cap and then oil to put the shine back in.

I have since been to Manchester beauty show and picked up a bottle of the mani-q cleanser from there and read the ingredients and it doen't have any acetone in at all, just alcohol and something else. I haven't used this cleanser yet but when I do i will update everyone.

I wear gloves at my work more than 8hrs a day and I haven't had any lifting of mani-q at all, I mean complete zero of lifting, absolutely amazing. NSI balance gels used to 'give up' after a week or so...

edit: I haven't tried to mix it with nail polish, just because there's no point imho - nail polish stays on very well on mani-qed nails, and I like changing colours every few days...

Tried the Mani-q cleanser today and its wicked, it leaves the shine on the nail but i wasnt brave enough to try it on the polish without it being capped, will have a bash on my self before i do it on a client :)

Absolutely any colour can be turned into a soak off gel
For those looking for the mani q gel polish mixing step by step i've put the link below
Hope this helps
Young Nails - Throughout England and the UK - Mani Q Gel Polish Step By Step

this works with most regular nail polishes that we know of so it's great to start using up some of that stock you have on the shelf....also if your client arrives with a favourite bottle you can turn it into a gel that will last....no problem.
:)

I just ordered mani q. I can't wait to receive it. I ordered it, basically to offer to my martial nail clients who have cracked nails for protection instead of doing an acrylic overlay. After reading this post I'm excited to try all the other ways of using this product. How do you guys market this to your client as a service?
