Hi Anyone used 5/77 (wella) over bleached highlights? I have a new client next week natural base 5 with about 2 inches regrowth of bleached highlights. She wants to break up the colour with some chocolate brown foils. 2 bleach foils to 1 brown. She wants me to reapply the bleach on her mid lengths and ends to lift her current colour even lighter but I am refusing to do this as her hair is not in great condition. Any advice would be great thanks

Any advice thanks!

Sorry I cant help you Lauren with the 5/77
I did use 6/73 on a 5/0 base recently for lowlights on bleach and they were lovely. I'm sure someone who knows will reply to you soon x

Hiya, the 5/77 wella should take well over bleached hair but if it's in bad condition it may fade out quickly. If you add a bit of base 5 to the 5/77 it will add some depth. As for taking the bleach through to the ends I would advise against it as the condition will suffer! Depending on the tone of her midlengths and ends, maybe judge it by eye as you go through, taking a diluted bleach through strands that look a bit dull/yellowy but sticking to doing the roots only as often as you can.

Thanks for your replies. Think I will go for the 5/77 and add some base. I have told her it will fade fast. As for the bleach I will dilute and pick out some of the golden pieces. Unfortunately I have one of those clients that just isn't listening to any of my advice !

5/77 is grand on it's own. Her blonde will look lighter against the dark anyway so the engs should be dead on left out x

5/77 is a lovely colour but it fades out a lot on bleached hair without a base added.

Hi, if the client hasn't much/any White hair, you could put the 5/77 on as a quasi by either using the colour touch or getting the affiance convertor, also the 5/75 is also a nice chocolate colour, may not fade so quick with a quasi, just an idea
Xxx

Thanks for your replies and I know what you mean about less fade with a quasi. She has already come for a consultation and then phoned saying she is worried about the level 5 being too dark. She has a lot of hair with loads of bleached high lights, needs a good 3 inches off and regular hair cuts. I have given her lots of advice and was really wondering whether to do her hair at all cos I don't think she is listening to me. Have any of you taken on a client you wish you hadn't???
