Hi, I'm new to the business and have recently trained with Bellissima gel. I'm at the stage where if you stand still too long I will gel your nails! Luckily, I have a great network of friends and family willing to be my models.
However, today I was doing my sister's nails and they were awful, I could have cried! The gel wasn't curing and was pickling- I'm thinking I put it on too thick? It is a Gelish colour that I bought especially for my sister but it didn't go on the same as another Gelish one I have and the brush was smaller. I rectified it the best I could and she thought they were lovely.
I was so disheartened tbh and felt like giving it all up! Anyone else felt this way? Any advice? Thanks x

Did you use the Gelish system for prepping nails? That is, using Ph Bond, Foundation and dry brushing.
Did you apply the colour thinly?
Did you mix the bottle thoroughly with the tool mixer?
Did you get the Gelish colour from an authorized distributor?

Hi, I prepped with phc and 2 Base coats no drywipe after. I did not use Gelish products for the prep, I used my bellissima ones (has been fine on the other Gelish one I use). I think the thickness of the application was an issue. I bought it locally from salon services. The colour is called call me jill frost. Thanks for replying I've been sat here for hours practicing!

You should not be mixing systems as this can produce a service breakdown or bad results. You should either use one or the other.

Ah I see, thank you. Hmm I was going on advice from my own nail tech. Are there universal products that are ok to use, as I'm not sure which brand to go with. I've heard so much good stuff about Gelish.

There is no such thing as a universal system. Manufacturers test products so that they work together as intended and do not harm the end user.

Ok thank you so much for the info, you've been very helpful. :)
