Well over the past few months I've not had the best of times. I've managed to let some people get me down and make me feel like I'm not good at my job. I don't want to use the b word but yes bullying. I've only been in the industry for 10ish months I'm just happy that the stuff that's been happening hasn't made me fall out of love with beauty, massage and nails. But I do think I could have in the end.

Now I start my new job next Thursday I'm nervous but really excited at the same time. So much to learn and I need to get my confidence back which has been knock very much.

I'm going to work in a hairdressers/beauty salon. I'm working with another therapist but kind of not. Only one of us will be in at a time. I need advise on products etc?

For nails they use CND for acrylic and gel. (I've only used NSI and gelish) I used it on my trail seemed ok, any tips with it?

They use fake bake tan any tips on this too? I use Sienna X is it basically the same?

She's going to train me in everything from certain products to other services which is good for both of us.

I just want this to go well from the start and nothing to go wrong. Any advise would be great.

Thanks xx

Good luck with the new job.

Are you employed by the other beauty therapist or the salon?
Or will you be self employed?

I'm just trying to understand your post about the training if you're not both working at the same time.

I'm going to be employed by the salon. It's just little things like semi permanent lashes which I didn't do at college. I'm qualified in everything else xx

I think every product tends to have little quirks that are different, but nothing a bit of practice can't solve.

Wishing you well in your new job. There was bullying in my first job in the industry. The last job I had in this industry had a lovely team and management though.

Always always shop around for another job if you're getting bullied in the workplace. We don't get paid enough to put up with it.

Good luck in your new job. Tens months experience is a good chunk of time in which to become good. You'll be a valuable employee for someone who appreciates it :)

Congratulations on the new job. Cnd acrylic is fabulous, I've used nsi whilst training for level 3 nails but went back to cnd.

Also, forgive me if I'm wrong but I'm sure I recognise you're face from YouTube? If it is you we need more videos they're fab!!!!! If not then I look like a crank haha x

It's going well so far. I start at my local bannatynes spa on Saturday this week too. Very nervous for that but everyone seems lovely and welcoming.

Yeah I'm Darlington based, you? Xx
