Ive put two sets of nails on since I started school, which was in early June. It was mostly experimenting with my l&p, so I took them off both times. I notice that at the end of my nail (Im a nail biter, so I dont have a free edge) it is white when I take the nail off, but it fades away, so that it is normal a day or so later. But while I am wearing the enhancements, you can still see it through the acrylic. Any ideas?

Hi, How are you actually removing your enhancements Amber....by soaking them off in Product remover or acetone......or is it the old snap & bite method!!!.....be honest now!

Its the old snap and bite method, LOL. Least Im honest! ;) I soaked them off once though. But the other times I just kinda get up under them and wiggle them right off. I know I know, I should know better! Im just impatient. ;)

listen to us....biting ang ripping off nails = bab BAD you wouldnt want ur clients doin it so DONT. as to hide the imperfectiond use an opaque pink. OPI absolute makes a warm and cool pink. its nice to have some opaque around just in case you come across some nasty nails that need covering up.

Hi, I thought this was the case.......you really are thinning out your nail plate with all this biting and picking off of your enhancements....layers of your own nail are being removed too....and your nails are only 100-150 layers thick.....So stop it!!! :smack:
Now your nails are so thin and weak, that there is a real possibility of Onycholisis...seperation of the nail plate from the nail bed, I would give the enhancements a wee rest for a month and use lashings of solar oil.......and I know its difficult, but try to stop biting your actual nails as well, keep them short but by using a file.
If you keep weakening your own nails in this way then it becomes less lkely that enhancements will stay on...you cant build a strong house on a weak foundation after all...so it is a vicious circle.
If you cant go without enhancements then make sure that they are not too long , keep them short and thin......and maintain them on a weekly basis, and remove properly.....HTH:biggrin:

I will try to stop biting my nails..its so hard, Ive been biting them since I was 2 or 3! But, Ill try. I can live without enhancements though, I like having them to do nail art on them ;) Specially for holidays..so maybe Ill leave them off til around mid september. Thanks again :)
