I guess it's an annual thing, our state inspector has to ask if we disinfect our nail brushes . Now, he knows how to take care of a nail brush, in fact he has quickly become an expert on it, and I have to give him credit for taking the time to understand enough about our industry to make sure he is doing his job. Here's the catch, our silly state law says that we have to wash all implements used for cosmetic applications with soap and water then be disinfected by immersion in a hospital grade disinfectant for at least 10 minutes. I hope you all can see the problem with this.
Here's my dilemma, he would like for me to help him write a satisfactory method of care for the acrylic nail brush. It must include how the brush is cleaned and stored. I need to do a little info gathering on all possible methods, I have manufacturer's directions from Creative Nail, Ez Flow and OPI, but I would like to have as much information as possible, on how you care for and store your brushes so that I may write a comprehensive and detailed plan and we don't go through this again next year.
Our inspector is doing everything he can, he's even taken the time to learn about MMA and proper disinfection procedures for our industry. He actually understands the difference between adhesive and glue. (he occasionally lurks about this site) He cares about what he's doing, and is working with us to get this issue taken care of AGAIN. So any help you can send my way would be great...Doug Schoon and the National Manufacturing Council are probably tired of hearing from me, so I thought I'd try it on my own this time (I have a legislator in my corner who will help me with the legal wording, so hopefully they will realize I mean what I say when I tell them you don't have to disinfect a nail brush!!! )
Thanks in advance for all your help
