Acrylic powder and Monomer consistency

Could you tell me how to recognise the right consistency of my acrylic when on the brush? I do wet my brush thoroughly then wipe of excess liquid before dragging my brush through the acrylic. Sometimes my bead is too dry then I just wipe off and start again and occasionally it is too wet and runs down the finger. Thank you
