What brand did you train with? You are best to practice with the brand you will offer as every brand works a bit differently
I didn't do a course, i want to try and see if i can do it myself with what i know before any course. This is why I asked for some opinions
I'd also recommend a training course, there are many quality training providers who not just train you do apply nails but also anatomy & physiology and chemistry is required - look at NSI, CND, Nail Harmony UK, BrillBird, Crystal Nails - so many to choose from.
You won't know if you can do nails if you haven't ever attended any training - trust me there is more to it than you think.
Good luck with your research in your training [emoji4]
Thank you ! I spoke with a lady today for an NSI training, it is 525 pounds, now, i assume i am supposed to learn everything a beginner needs to know (I know the process except for how to level the acrylic) , if I think that it was a waste of time and i didn't learn what i should've , do i need to contact NSI or what would be the process ? As I don't want to waste my money and I want to make sure it's good. I wanted to make a sally's course but most of the reviews were negative.
Nsi are a reputable company so I can't imagine you will have any problems - none that you will encounter without any form of training.
Have you been watching you tube videos? If so please stop - there are nothing but bad habits & incorrect procedures, lack of product knowledge and lack of chemistry to be picked up from you tube.
As you have said you are a beginner so you are starting from scratch, so how do you know the process? Every brands trains differently so it depends on what brands system you want to continue using in your career as a nail technician.
Tbh you are making it seem as thought you think a nail technician us as easy as picking up a brush! It was 1 year after I trained that I personally felt confident to charge for a set of enhancements and I'd already been a beauty therapist for 3 years before I trained so I even worked in the industry. I've been qualified for nearly 20 years now. Please please do not cut corners in your education as you need to make sure you will be happy in your chosen brand - £500 isn't a huge amount for a beginners course with a reputable well known brand within the nail industry.
I'll recommend you purchase Doug Schoons "nail structure & product chemistry" book http://www.schoonscientific.com/purchase-books-dvd.html
He is the god father of nail science, and this is a book you will return to even in 10 years!
Hope this helps In Your search - good luck [emoji4]
I'd just like to put my 2 pence worth in, I practiced with many acrylics and gels before officially training (which I am at the moment) it's a wealth of information, before my application was terrible and I couldn't level acrylic or build a apex properly without so to say screwing it up and have a massive amount of filing afterwards, I think training with a reputable company is really the best choice, I always had my nails done and watched YouTube videos but actually training does provide you with all that missing info that you need to be ableThank you so much for your answer ! I know the process (or i think i do ) as i have watched the lady that does my nails for years, she has NSI and CND training. I will definitely purchase the book. Thanks once again !

to produce a good set of nails that adhere to all the safety and hygiene aspect side of things, and minimise filing and making your application great and so on....
