Hello everyone, need some advice i never tint inbetween foils just do the tint first then fols? Ive noticed everyone tints around there foils and i think its time i did this too. Do you go in with a lower peroxide forbleach foils so that your tint and foils all take at the same time. I dnt want foils being done b4 hand andseeping sounds to messy .help me out and tell me the right way please much appreciated .

Yes that's right a lower peroxide when the base colour is on at the same time, it's sooo much quicker and less stress on the hair :) x

I too would love to give this a go but a bit nervous, think I'll chance it on a friend maybe first:lol:

aww thankyou this site defo stops my worrying ,now i just worry with you lot ha ha ha and it makes hairdressing that little bit easier x

Make sure you keep your sections neat and be methodical applying the tint you will be fine, as the others have said it saves so much time, good luck!!!

Hi I do quite a few foils and tint in between. Depending on how many foils you are applying you could always start with 6% at the back and maybe go to 9% at the front when using bleach. It does save a lot of time.
Just wondering what other guys do when the client has say more than inch and a half regrowth do you still apply the foils 1st ? Do you get enough coverage still on the roots even with the hair in packet? Hope this makes sense:)

I do about 15 lots of foils a week, the above is back to back foiling when u are applying a hi-light or low-light and base colour all at once! so yes with bleach start with a lower % as this will be on longer, then u can up it to a 9% if u need to near the front and sides! small neat sections about half a cm weave through, under weave base colour, get it right on the root, then bring the top weave over keeping your tension good! Get the foil right to the root using the pin tail apply half an inch away from root to start, then nudge the colour up a few mm away from root, you dont want too much col/bleach up there to avoid bleeding!! fold your foil neatly, tuck sides in and carry on. When finshed with foils if only parting or half head, pin them up and out on the way and apply base col to roots as normal elsewhere!

Oooh this sounds like a much easier way of doing colour and foils :)
