Hey guys, new to this! Haha.
So I started my NVQ level one last month (had abit of previous training in a salon for 3 months last year) and I just really want to do well at it!
I get incredibly doubtful of my work and worry im not good enough for the course, im doing well with the theory part but im so worried my practical skills arn't upto scratch despite my lectururs complementing my work..
I want to be the best I can possibly be so I wondered if any of you experienced hairdressers could give me any advice that may help?
So far we've done, shampooing, conditioning, a range of different blowdry techniques, treatments (henna wax and hot oil) head massage, plaiting+twisting, hair up and setting!

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this!
:) xxx

I'm not a hairdresser my sister is but she used to watch lots of YouTube tutorials on different techniques in cutting colouring blow drying ect then practice on ur family n friends I been my sisters gunipig since she started lol

Hii, aww don't doubt yourself so much, everyone feels that way when they first start out. Just try your best at everything you do and i'm sure you'll be fine!!! Good luck. x

lots of practice! when i was in level 1 i bought a level 2 book just to read ahead, ive literally got tonnes of hairdressing books now just buy them really cheap from amazon and ebay and just read everything i didnt understand over and over - sometimes if you understand it fully in your head you can carry things out easier, but as i said with lots and lots of practicing!

Thankyou so much to everyone! Means alot :) ive been reading my level one book religiously and ive been watching tutorials since I was about 13 haha, next payday i'll be getting some more books too! xox

Just relax and enjoy it - the more you practice the better you will be remember you're just starting out! X
