Hi, I'm currently studying an NVQ2 in Beauty Therapy at Reading College. I am interested in purchasing a portable couch. Initially I'd like to be able to set it up (temporarily) in my house to practise on my friends. And with a bit more experience and confidence, be able to go to their houses. So it would have to be light.

Is anyone able guide me on purchasing a couch? I have had a look around on ebay but feel I need to see one first to ensure they are sturdy. Last thing I want is a wobbly, creeky bed!! I was hoping someone might be able to recommend something they have brought.

Thanks, Lisa

hiya hun!

have a look on ellisons website, or salon services or capital or somewhere like that, they will have loads to look at. or if you have a local branch of salon services or capital or wherever, then pop in and have a look, they normally have the furniture all layed out neatly for you to have a look at.

when i bought mine, i got it of ebay, its ok but i wish i had looked into it more and bought one from ellisons or somewhere instead. mine is very bog standard and i cant adjust the height of it, which is a problem for little 5ft 1in me! so i wish id of got one which i can adjust. a one which you can sit up is always good too as it is handy when doing pedicures or half leg waxs etc.

you can buy all kinds now so just have a good nosey xx

Thanks sooooo much for your reply. I shall look into those websibes you mentioned! It's a bit daunting parting with cash when you not 100% sure what to buy!

Hi HTH,

Thanks for the info about Feel Good UK. Lisa

I had (or should i say have) a feel good bed and they are lovely but my headrest broke within 6 months of me using it. Without it the bed was very small, much too small for my tall clients, their legs would dangle 2 foot off the bed! I probably could have sent it back but I was outside the uk at the time and thought it would be too expensive.
I am currently looking into getting one of the 700 euro beds that only weigh 10 kg and they are wide which is great for the larger clients. My friend has one and they are amazing but the price tag is not, I think she got hers from ebay.
