Hi there everyone!

I have decided to take the plunge and train to be a nail technician. I would just like to know which type of course most people would recommend. I am in Leeds and am veering towards doing the Creative Nails course, probably after Christmas. Also do most people here do mobile or work in salons?
Thanks!!

I am doing the Creative Nail Foundation Course at the end of November in Manchester. I am a complete beginner and was advised that this was the best course to take if you have had no experience with nails.

I do think that most Tech's would advise you to train with a reputable company. You have made a good choice if you go with Creative. You will start by doing a foundation course and then progress onto the next stages.
The geeks who use this site are Salon tech's, Mobile tech's, Educators, Company reps and lots of the top professionals you can't go wrong.

Just wanted to say hi - mainly coz my step daughter is also called Sadie and its an unusual name lol.

Do some research before you choose a training course - quite a few of us on here have made some expensive mistakes along the way. I am one of them, did a course with what I thought was a reputable company but ended up with no technical back-up and many of the things I have learned since being a member of this site puts my training (and trainer) to shame. Took the plunge and did my Creative conversion in September and it was the best money I've spent (so good in fact that I did the Brisa gel conversion in October!). Hoping to follow it up with my Masters in the new year.

If you are passionate about nails its worth getting the best training you can afford right from the start otherwise you can get very despondent when things go wrong and just give up - I know I nearly did.

Good luck.

Yes I would definately say go for Creative!!! I have just finished my third day and am loving it!!! There are some women on my course that have done other courses and have been raving about how much better it is to the ones they did before, so there you go. I am doing my course in Birmingham with Marco Benito, and it is fab cause he doesn't make you feel guilty or thick for asking questions, which is good. Anyway, that was my 2 pennies worth! Good luck with your course, whichever you decide to go on..

Hey you are not thick, you will get the hang of it in no time. If you want to ask a question its best to start a new thread so everyone can see it.

LOL!!!! You go to the Main forum. Just above the big space where all the posts are there is a light grey button that says "New Thread" Click there and it will take you to a place you can type your quation.

Just don't type ALL your questions in the main forum, this gets irritating. Only nail related issues, the otherv forums are for Nail Art and Chit chat.

Hope this helps and does not come accross patronising :) xxxx

just copy what you just typed...then go to main forum...new thread (top left hand side of forum) and then paste .... xxxx
