Hi everyone, im just looking for abit of advice really,
i studied beauty therapy 5 years ago and qualified nvq 1 2 and 3,
im wanting to get back into it but finding it difficult.
i want to become a nail tec the course i was going to go on was at a college for 6 months £800 in january but im thinking it may be a struggle to get the money together with xmas coming up, once i turn 24 (in April) the course will go up to 1800.
Does anyone no of any well known courses that i could go on that will teach me everything i need to know. i did do a course back in college which was a few weeks, but i've completley forgot everything as i didn't start practicing straight after because i didn't think i was good enough at it, i sure wish i carried that on now!
please help, im from Leeds by the way so somewhere close by. i've been searching the net and was going to to 'one step beauty' but they has been ALOT of bad reviews about that i don't want to be wasting my money.
also any tips for starting up again on my own? i'm wanting to do treatments at home too to start getting a client base together with waxing, gellux, manicures and pedicures. i just feel stuck at the moment and would really appreciate any advice given!

I know it is pretty good it does include gel and acrylics its a nail technician course so would be perfect I just can't afford it just after Christmas :-(

Could you ask your friends/family/partner to bare with you this Christmas as this is more important? Seems silly to pay £1,000 more later on down the line.

For everything all in you'd be looking at double that else where.

I paid almost £1,000 for my gel course alone. Which only included 1 pot of coloured gel & a white & pink to do a french!

Xx

Have you asked the collage if you can pay in instalments or if they have any bursaries? Collages are usually willing to help find a way to get you on the course. Good luck!

I have seen a course with salon services which is 4 days it's £200 have to buy the kit on top and some other bits so would be about £300 it is only acrylics only but it will give me the basics right? Then I can start practising and save up and do another gel course with salon services?

I personally wouldn't do any salon services course.

Ive read lots of bad reports. And not sure where you stand with afterwards.

Completely your choice, but as the saying goes, pay cheap pay twice.

As someone said above maybe ask at college, incase there are any grants available they should know & hopefully help get you on the course.

Do you work?
