Am I allergic to Shellac, help!

Hi girls,

I've been qualified since January in shellac and have been doing both clients and my own nails in this time!

Tonight I done my own nails and didn't do anything different to what I would usually do to clients or myself but tonight I feel like I have sunburn on my arms and hand and too side of my wrists are blotchy and slightly red! So scared that I have had a reaction ti my beloved shellac It isn't sore just feel really hot and can obviously see blotchy parches on my skin...

Firstly take an antihistamine, and apply some cool flannels to cool them down, and dont panic

Its odd to have a reaction on your arms, i would have expected it to start on your fingers if its the Shellac. That's not to say its not a reaction but why on your arms, you don't rub it in your arms or wrist like say handcream or antibac handwash.

I could understand if it was the heel of your hand as maybe you lean your hand on contaminated desk towel, its common for us techs to get contact dermatitis from that.

Did you come in contact with something during the day? Suntan lotion, plants, grasses???

I'm trying to think if things I've perhaps touched during the day and can't think but also can't understand why it would be around the wrist area, the only new thing I've used on myself yesterday nail wise was I tried out different removal foils but it's just a different brand, same old foil and cotton pad combo? Strange Thanks for your help, I'll keep an eye today for anything different x
