At the moment I am doing my vtct at a college miiiiiiiiles awaay from where I live and it is costing me a fortune, b&bs, trains, not to mention over £700.00 for the 8day vtct course (not including any kits and that is gel, acrylic, sculpture)I have one day training left in sculpture to do then it will be 6 assessments so back down I go again! I find the one day training a laugh! what do you possible learn in one day, there are courses that last 2 days and then off you trot claiming to be a nail tech! I am definately going to speak to someone about the creative conversion course, what does this entail and how long is it, I really want to research my next course as I feel like I am being massively ripped off. If anyone has done a conversion course with creative please let me know what it was like and what the next step after it was, would I be eligible to do the course? The problem with me is I want to do GRRRReat nails and keep learning but you can only do that if you choose the right course, thank god for this site!!!.

Why didnt you do the foundation course with creative? I know its not £700! And i also know its fantastic training!

To do the conversion course you have to have been qualified to do nails for at least 12months, their 1day course is just to convert you to the creative way of doing things so they know your competant befor selling you creative products.

how much is the foundation course, and what is it, I called someone at creative today and I was qouted £900.00 + vat and I am sure she said that was the foundation course, could be wrong, got a huge shock at the price.

Actually the foundation course is more than £700 when you add vat to the course price of £599. But well worth every pound ,I am sure of that.

awww, i am so impatient! if it takes 12 months then I will wait and keep practicing in the mean time, I am determined and dying to do a beautiful set of nails, this site just makes you want to learn more!!

One of my friends got an info pack regarding the foundation course, and im sure she said it was around the £500 plus vat mark? Not 100% though. But if i was ever to give advise to anyone thinking of going on any course, i would always reccommend creative. Then you could do the mani/pedi course if you havent already and if you buy the kits you get the training free.

Oh and another thing i just thought, i did the advanced nail techniques course when i trained and i passed in 2003, and i was allowed to do the conversion because of the qualification i already had, i think i had only passed around 5-6 months when i did the conversion. So check what qualification you need, to enable you to do the conversion.

Thanks for that, what do you mean when you say kits enable you to do the course for free? how do you get these kits, I have done a day mani and a day pedi already but would'nt mind doing another with creative.

If you go to your nearest one stop nail shop and buy the mani/pedi kits, you get free training for mani and pedi. HTH.

I think there's a thread on here somewhere where Geeg said that you can do the conversion course straight away if you have a VTCT qualification or NVQ because they are recognised. I must say that £700 is very expensive for your VTCT course, even if it is an intensive course! I paid £198 for my course which was Nail Treatments and then Nail Technology and included my registration and exam fee, and an extra £165 for my kit.
