I was thinking about doing hair as well as beauty, but like others say it can take years to master. I think I am going to do a course in "hair up" so can offer this to brides alongside make-up. I just need to find a course.

Not sure why i posted this tbh, because it is what you feel inside really.

How silly saying people dont have a natural flair for things? you can have a natural flair for things for example, if my niece painted my toe nails perfectly, id say "she has a natural flair for it" where as if they looked a bit bad id say "she will learn" some can easily......others learn!!! SIMPLES

Maybe i didnt tell you that i have done dying, cutting and styling before on friends and its come out good.

I had a natural flair for make up way before i started Beauty therapy, and that is still one of my best treatments i do.

Good to hear from those who do both :)

£850 is the NVQ price in my area of Norfolk. Its closest training facility to me and as i work and have a child thats perfect for me. Ive sailed through all my courses, so when i sound arrogant, which no1 has ever called me in my life, its because of that fact, thats all.

I was chatting to the hairdresser at my work the other day and thought god, cutting is a skill that takes time to perfect and then got a bit put off, she said, you will learn, i said, but can you imagine how many peoples hair gets cut uneven first? she said, same as when you did bad nails! lol shes right i guess.

Ah you posted it because you wanted to hear other peoples views on it? Nothing wrong with that.
You can definitely have a natural flare for certain things and if you have that, then you are already further than someone who hasn't.
I can imagine hair is harder than beauty because hey if we sod up someone's nails then we can usually fix them! But just because something is harder to do than something you are already doing does not mean you shouldn't do it.
Go for it hun. If you end up not liking it then at least you tried!

I did an apprentership in hair after doing all my beauty courses and my trainer who has trained hundreds of girls and after my first day she said wow i can see your not guna take long to train!so of course you can have a natural for something n jus like hair beauty takes practice i did my CND course 3 years ago n still trying to perfect my nails, people are so sensitive sometimes and so quick to give a snide comment!!good on u for wanting to do both i wish i cud of but a baby takes up too much of my energy lol xx

wow so many positive responses, i am also qualified in beauty and looking to go into hair, the course where i am in Kent is around £2000, i am self employed and mobile doing beauty, im not sure whether there is any financial help i can get as i earn below a certain amount, i really do want to go into hairdressing and i know its not going to be easy but i see it as an investment in myself and my future, any one able to help or advise me where to look :) thanks x

i'm a trained nail tech that is currently training in level 2 hair,i have flair in some areas and good at the theory, but i know i have a lot of practice to go before i get anything perfect and i'm planning to do level 3 after. If you have the passion and drive for both go for it.
