Hi all!
I am a newbie to this site and visit daily!
However I have an issue! First, I LOVE backscratchers products! I use the acrylic dip Xtreme system and the backscratchers fiberglass system. It is so quick and easy. However, it seems when i use the dip, and do my prep and filing they look fabulous. After a day or two, they seem to break or lift~ on alot of clients, except me! I use this on myself and have no problems. Has anyone ever used this system and have any tricks or tips? Ive went to their site and the only thing they suggest is to do a double dip and it just makes them too thick for my taste. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I do a 'kind of' double dipping, inasmuch as after applying the tips I put a line of resin across, and right up to, the smile line, then dip. This helps to get the nice arch shape. Then I do the full nail resin application and dip again. I find that there is hardly any filing to do at all. Just a quick swipe down the side walls and then a buff with the white sanding block before going on to the normal buffing of the nails.

As to why the nails should stay on you but not on your clients, I really dont know. I have to say that I find them extremely strong and like you I never get any lifting on myself when I use them. I would just presume that maybe the prep is not good enough. Do you have a double ended tool to remove all the none living tissue as I found that this was my weak spot at first. Once I had got my new tool I was amazed at the amount of gunk that this tool lifts up.

PM me if you need any more advice.

Hiya ...I use tip and dip sometimes and have no breaks and no lifting...I do a thourough prep with cuticle remover, scrubfresh etc...and i double dip but only in the middle of the nail...(the apex..stress area) so they don't look thick at all. Never double dip the tip or the cuticle area...and never dip too near the cuticle either.

So...prep, tip, dust, resin, dip, resin again across stress area, dip, resin over whole nail, spray. when all ten are done...file and shape, work your oil in, buff to high shine.

The clients really do need to oil these babies.

I have found though that a coat of clear gel over the whole nail will keep them nice and shiny and seal them...as gel is non porous it stops water and stuff getting in and eliminates lifting all together.

Hope this helps xx

Hiya Karen

If its on breaking then are they wearing a cuticle oil to keep them flexible as this could be an issue, I guess you, but they might not be and I find the Tip and Dip or F&G needs this more so than the other systems.

i guess they Lifting is down to in complete prep or product coming into contact with the nail sidewalls, or oil on the nail plate IMO

Does this help?

Hi

The only thing i have found with backscratchers is that the prep they reccomend is inadequate.
Have a read of this :Look_righ prep :Look_left and i think you will see a big difference.

I use the extreme dip and i really like it. I do it the same as Val too and still build a c curve in. I also use the Brisa finishing gloss rather than the extreme finishing gloss as i dislike the way it 'glows' under UV light. It helps keep them looking good for much longer too.

You guys rock! Thanks for the replies. I use alot of Creative products~wonder why i never heard of it. I"ll be gettin some for sure now.

Oops forgot to add that i dont even use a topcoat or uv on my own, i just buff to shine. I cant seem to keep them nice when doing other peoples nails when mine have any type of polish on them. On others, I will use normally Pro Finish Gold UV coat. Love it!
