Anyone tried Wella 10/38? Versus 10/1? Or 10/0?

Hi,
After getting lots of great advice on here I'm thinking of trying the Wella 10 range instead of 12, as I'm getting too white an effect with the 12 (full head tint)
Someone suggested 10/38 and looking at the swatch it does seem a nice colour. However as I have a lot of natural warmth in my hair I was going to go for the 10/1. Would 10/38 go too warm? My natural base is around a 7 and I'm looking for a light, vibrant blonde without ginger, but I don't like ashy or white colours as they don't suit me.
I'm not a hairdresser so not sure how much ash you need to counteract the ginger but get a natural rather than an ashy end result.
Thanks
