Are extensions still as popular?

Just wondering on people views.
Would it be a finically viable idea to invest in doing a course or do people feel its had it's day?

Definitely not had its day, the only thing is that more and more people are offering it so competition is more for the same clients, but it is definitely still popular if not even more than before. By standing out and being the best you do get a lot of clients! The reason you might not "see" it as much now is that more and more are getting better at applying them so that you cant even tell the difference between the natural hair and the extensions so you will never even know if they were wearing them.
