average prices in your area

just being nosey, would like to know what the average price for L&P tip overlays and gel enhancements in your area

so
1.. what area you live in
2.. price for full set p/w
3..price for backfills

I currently charge one colour tip overlay £27 inc pinky solar oil
£32 for tip overlay p/w inc pinky
£14 for infills £18 for p/w backfill
extra £2 for polish

I live near Pontefract west yorkshire, but in wakefield town centre which is not far from me either there is a salon which is chargeing only £20.00 for a full set (but this lady is also a creative master) iam sorry i dont know if this is for p&w or if it is for just one colour. and then theres another salon which has just opened and they are charging just £15.00 for a full set.

at the moment i charge £22.00 for a full set of p&w.
infills or reblance £15.00 for between 2-4weeks.
and i charge a bit more for calgel because the products are so much more expensive. but iam hoping to convert to creative gel.

i know that my prices are only low but what else can i do when ive got to compete with salons which charge as little has above.i feel like it is a bit dishearting when ive spent so much money and time on training.

i use Brisa. Town salons are charging 40.00 - 45.00 for gel where i live and my prices also include an aftercare kit (leaflet, solar oil and solar butter).

I live in Basingstoke...I must have done something really bad in my other life...but, anyway..

They charge £45 - £55 full set in standard salons. with back fill £28 - £30 approx.

NSS charges £28 for full set and £19 for infill. Airbrush designs extra. £35 fo fren tip.

I charge £30 fullset clear. £35 for perm French. £20 or infill. £25 for french maintenance / rebalance.

mega money round here for, well ....best not say to much!

in my experience, any client worth having will pay as much as she can justify to keep her nails in tip top condition.
it has always been my advice to set your prices at the top end of the scale, then offer special prices for a set time.
if u are doing a fabulous job, some clients will stay. there will always b those clients who "salon hop" for the best deal, regardless of the quality of the service. for the same reason, if your prices are among the cheapest in town, u will attract the clients who want only cheap.
the answer is to get as much education as you can, provide a "special" service, incl. aftercare leaflets & a range (however small) of retail products.
have faith in your work & products, & charge at least as much as the others in your area.
it is definately false economy to charge really low prices, as u will struggle to put them up, without loosing half your client base.

Where I live prices in salons range from £30 to £50 for a full set and manicures are around £15. I charge £30 for natural and £35 for perm french, £15 for infills, £10 for manicure with polish, £15 for luxury manicure, £20 for pedicure with polish, £15 for gels on toes. Airbrush or freehand nail art is extra.

My prices are the same for Creative Brisa gel on fingers or toes £36.
encapsulated rhinestones in brisa gel 50p each stone or £1 each dried flower.
This includes full prep, solar oil favour,and after care sheet (lulu) which I've found some salons charging seperately for!

I am only slightly cheaper and I can give my clients plenty of time and am not being made to do sets in i 1/4 hours and fills in an hour as I was when I worked in a salon.

Salons in the area charge about £35 - £40 for new sets and about £20 for fills.

I totally agree about the time aspect, when i worked in a salon i had hourly appointments and always felt like i was rushing but now i work from home i always give myself a bit longer so i can have a good chat with my clients and get to know them.

All clients receive aftercare and my mobile no. for emergencys and text bookings. I only retail nurture oil and buffers. I used to be cheaper than the beauticians - well I still am by €5 - but I found I had the expertise, experience and TRAINING and they were charging more! People do assiciate price with quality and I feel my prices are justified - well gotta pay for those courses some how :wink2:

Salon Price - about £40 + full set tip & overlay. Don't think they do rebalances as when I worked there the policy was to soak off and apply new set as it was more cost effective (for the salon NOT the client!). But infills are £20+.

NSS full set about £30 and they mainly attract the young girls. Not sure on infills - about £16-£18 I think.

I charge full set £39 + £5 for French gel (I only do gel, although now starting to Fabric#). £20 (plus £2 per replacement nail) for natural infills/rebalance, and extra £5 if I have to rebalance French.

At the moment I have an offer for £29 a set as I have not been very focussed on my marketing and I need to crank up my client base again! Like Liza says, it's easier to do a seasonal discount, than to try and put your prices UP because you realise you set them too low to start with.
