Hi all

I have a client with previously overbleached hair, when I began seeing her it was like chewing gum, just awful. I put her onto a strict repair regime, managed to wean her off the heat appliances by showing her some easy everyday updo's and cut off as much as I could convince her to part with.

I carried on with trims and treatments for 5mths but She wasnt enjoying the awful grown out bleach during this and decided she wanted to go red - shes naturally base 7-8 ginger, so I went ahead with colour touch relights which worked fantastically.

Only problem is, the overprocessed hair which is now midlength to ends will not hold colour at all!
It lasts one wash, and iv literally now tried everything I can think of, iv tried colour fresh, directions, stargazer, but after the first post colour wash, the ends do not hold the vibrant colour, and she is left with a wishy washy tone.

Obviously im very reluctant to use anything that may damage her hair even more, she uses osmo colour defence shampoo and conditioner, at first I thought this may be the problem but I used some of my own pureology on her and even that didnt work!! She also still comes to me weekly for restructurant treatments.

I understand why this is happening but im unsure of the next step to take, she really does not want to be patient and allow it to grow out :/ but she is willing to go darker if the colour will hold better but im really not sure it will.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Hello,

You do not say if you pre-pigged? I always do one shade darker and richer than I want and that works for me. If you did not I would try it now, if you did I would try it again:biggrin:.

Pureology works wonders for me, cannot recommend it enough.

I guess it just maybe too far gone...What about a colour mousse for client to use at home after shampooing, and remind her not to over rinse?

Look forward to hearing other points of view x.

Hi, try precolour again maybe crazy colour, and your client could use reckon colour balls they are great, could be used every time she washes it to help keep colour in. Keep going it will stay there in the end. Also purple reds are worth trying sometimes stay in better!:))

Hey i use goldwell elumen rr@ all and it dsnt shift it leaves the hair feeling amazing aswell u would need to contact goldwell cause u cant get it in salon services its amazing though xx

Ill see if she fancies a violet red, have tried crazy colours and they dont seem to hold either...also she has a cream leather suite and apparently hubby wasnt too pleased about the rub off where she had put her head against the sofa!!

Iv never used goldwell color...if im honest I tend to stick to wella and loreal, but I will look into it thankyou x
