sorry if this comes up as a double post, im having internet problems!!

I have mid brown hair that I feel is too dark for my complexion.
For the last 3 ½ years I have been having highlights, first full head then for the last 2 years ½ head with some brown put through, as I has getting that ‘block blonde’ look.
The last 3 or so time s I had them done they have come out more grey than blonde. I asked the hairdresser if my hair was getting over processed, and she said no, as the bleach is only applied to the roots, but several times I saw her applying it down to eye level when my roots were only 1-2inches long!
I really moaned the last time I went, and she discussed it with the head of the salon and decided to use a product called hi-lift (or something like that) instead, with 2 tints put through as well, to give a more natural, multi-tonal effect.

At first I was ok with the colour, but then I realised that my colour looks quite flat, you cant see the tones that well, and I have these horrible bleached bits still from eye-level down – the remains of my old highlights that either she didn’t bother going over, or for some reason the dye didn’t take too. It look really stupid, and the ends of my hair look very dull and greyish because of it.

Im not sure whether to go back and give them one last go to sort it out, or to just start going to another hairdresser (how I would ask then to fix it im not sure!?)
Tbh all the places near me are so expensive as they are branded (sean hanna, toni and guy, headmasters etc), and I don’t know if you are really paying for quality, or just the name?

I would like to go more blonde again but not if its going to go grey! Also my hair is naturally very thick, dry and frizzy (which is made worse by the thinning scissors people keep using), and when I had full head highlights it would snap very easily and fall out a lot. I now use salon shampoo (joico k-pax reconstruct shampoo and conditioner, and the deep penetrating reconstructor treatment), so don’t know if that would make a difference, or if I should just stay away from blonde and deal with being a lighter brown?

Generally with hairdressers you get what you pay for. Totally competant, experienced stylists don't work cheaply. A good hairdresser can sort your colour problem out easily, and would take your dislike of thinning scissors into account during your cut.
Salon products are miles better than the stuff in Boots or the supermarket.

First off all- tell them to have a way with those horrible thinning scissors!!

What is your natural colour? Is it possible for you to upload a picture of your current hair colour?
