I can almost predict the whole of the show now...
Just the same as
Holidays from hell....
Weddings from hell....
Hairdresser from hell, list go's on and on and on and on.....

What is the point in this !
To scare people...to put decent workers at risk ..
I doubt very much this show will give any FACTUAL details on what to look for in a decent beauty therapist, nail technician etc...
Which is what the industry and the consumer actually needs...

Now if you were asking on here, would any professional beauty therapists like to take part in a very serious and much needed documentry about professional treatments v's DIY treatments....
Informing consumers of what to look for to ensure the best service,
that type of thing,
You would have a fantastic response....
But this is obviously NOT what you are looking for.....

And for the record...No professionl would discuss their clients experiences anyway...client confidentiality !

For anyone out there who has agreed to volunteer with this project, I would strongly reccomend that you dont. You have to sign a disclaimer saying your willing to participate and they can edit the programme to however suits the production company and you have no say on the finished result. Remember they are only focusing on the disasters that happen, they may listen to your success stories but I guarantee you that wont get air time. I wouldnt even send em to the NSS cos again all that will be focused on is bad nails and who is gonna affect in the long run......you the professional.

If we were also to tell about someone else's bad experiences, I'm pretty sure we'd le liable for slander.

If im honest im not happy about this because plenty of people are sure to watch this program and they will hear a wax has gone horribly wrong and think i am never having that done, in which it loses us business and makes us look bad, people will get the wrong idea and think that every beautican is like that.I think if anything you should be encouraging people to have beauty treatments because its not all shock horror shock at all and when making these programs it makes people think that.

I also wanted to add that like emmsy said its like a holidays from hell show but the difference is people will just think oh we will go somewhere else in lanzarote but with this show its going to put someone off going to any therapist, and i agree with what the other lady said why not make a show on disasters which have gone wrong on people and unqualified people who try to do it themselves at least this way people will know where they are better off and thats with a qualified beautican because if you think of it people will think oh there is no point having it done by a therapist because they wil just mess it up and then think i might as well do it myself in which is putting people at risk.

The reference for the documentary is about the client side of tretaments. perhaps you have dealth with people who have told you their horror stories. Perhaps you have rectified their mishaps. I am hoping that you may be able to help make contact with such indicdulas. This is not in any way aimed at professionals who are excellent therapists.

Sophie

Do you mind me asking what you're actually hoping to be getting out of making this series?

What is the message for the consumer?

When and if beauty treatments go wrong, the client will usually end up at the doctors. We're not trained to deal with these kind of things. If we had someone turn up, we would send them straight to their GP. We wouldn't be covered for insurance purposes to work on them.

If someone's had a lex wax 'go wrong', I'd certainly not work on them straight away! IMO, you can't rectify something like that so soon.

I think you can see the general opinion on here is that nobody is going to freely give names or situations. I can only imagine that if you don't get any from here, you'll only make them up.

Unless, you're going to highlight a REAL ISSUE in the industry, such as Non Standard Salons ruining peoples natural nails, I'd give up. This is the only thing that we ARE rectifying.

I understand that you want to make contact with individual who have had bad treatments - I have had many of those come to me for help BUT they are my clients. I don't think any of us would be happy to hand over client contact details and I certainly wouldn't ask any of my clients for permission.

Many of these people feel stupid for having gone to the NSS in the first place.

You said what I couldn't put properly last night so I didn't post in the end

I pity any usually brilliant profesional who had a misshap, possibly not even their fault or due to a fault with equipment who then gets made out to perfom bad treatment based on one clients testimony. I just cant see how anything about it will be balanced or fair.

This appeal is so dis-respectful I am inclined to think -

April Fool?

Maybe that's just me?

Sophie, why don't you contact the 'kiss and tell' therapists, that should sensational enough for your programme. You could do an indepth interview with the woman who does Heather Mills nails and the beautican that 'slept' with Beckham.
They are willing to sell their integrity - may cost you a couple of hundred pounds though to get them to talk to you.
