All round beauty brand Aveda has been named an official CoolBrand in an influential annual initiative to identify the UK's coolest brands on the block. Now in it's eleventh year, the CoolBrand list follows a vote by a combination of just under 3000 consumers and a panel made up of designers, style experts, media personalitites and prominent figures from the world of TV, fashion and music - so basically, a Who's Who from the world of cool.
Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney, fashion blogger, Susie Bubble, hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, celebrity chef, Gizzie Erskine and musician, actor and director, Plan B were all on the panel co-ordinated by The Centre for Brand Analysis. Those brands that made the list were whittled down from over 10,000 independently identified brands and shortlisted to just 1,200.
Factors such as style, innovation, originality, authenticity, desirability and uniqueness influenced the panel's short list before 3,000 members of the British public gave their ratings.
"Even in a recession a desirable reputation is vital," says Stephen Cheliotis, "so being seen by opinions formers and the British public as a stylish attractive brand is not only a great compliment but an indicator of success. Competition was fiercer than ever so achieving CoolBrands status is something Aveda can be truly proud of."
