Hi everyone, I am currently building up stock and equipment before I enrol on a Nail Tech course. I have bought some acrylic powder & liquid, which sets far too fast. I need some advice on which brand of acrylic powder/liquid to buy that is suitable for beginners and doesn't set too fast to give me time to learn the application technique, can you help me please? :wink2:

Nsi attraction all the way ;)

How do you know it's setting too fast if you haven't done any training?

You are putting the cart before the horse here and you need to train first and be shown the correct techniques, then practise them.

Having a go yourself you will pick up bad habits and techniques, which will hold you back on your training course.

Which course are you going to do, and what brand/product system do they advise that you use?

I have looked at quite a few courses - one in particular recommended by a friend from Essential Nails with a trainer hand. I have been having my nails done for many years and have tried to copy what the Professionals do but when I do it, the acrylic sets very quick before I can sculpt it properly, compared to how they do it so I was wondering if it was the product or my technique.

What course can you recommend? Any advice is greatly received :)

Izzi has said it best.
You are best to train first with a reputable company that will educate you on product chemistry and proper application technique. We can't give you any advice or tips because every product is different. Once you are trained and need help troubleshooting this place is amazing for advice. Believe me even once you are trained it will take lots of time and practice to do a well balanced beautiful set of nails.

Personally I think product companies offer the best training and the kit usually included in the cost.
Best companies are CND, NSI, Young Nails, Crystal Nails and Harmony.

Do some searches on here and do some research on these companies and their distributors and see what training suits your needs best.

Thank you Biljana & Izzi - your advice is much appreciated x
