Hi

I ordered CND Shellac from this company (USA). Ordered arrived empty as customs confiscated the products. I have emailed Beverly Beaute and they keep telling me it cleared customs and its on its way. Have asked for a refund and they are ignoring me. Can anyone give me advice or has anyone ordered from them?

Thanks

Sorry to say that's what you get if you don't buy from a reputable UK distributor. BB might be cheaper and some people have good luck with them but is it really worth the risk?

If you buy from the proper distributors you also getting customer support, not just for the here and now but for future too.

Not much more I can say, notch it down to experience - suck it up and move on.

Karaxxx

lol thanks - expensive suck it up though

Check their T&Cs as it might mention customs. I know any US company I've ordered from state that basically if it doesn't get sent on from customs or you get charged it's not the company's fault and they won't be held liable.
My friend sent me a gel polish (she's in England, I'm in Northern Ireland) and her parcel was opened and checked before being repackaged and sent to me along with a letter from Royal Mail stating it was opened. Nail polishes etc need to be declared even when being sent within UK.

HMRC are now catching on to how much tax revenue is being missed by companies like this. BB are well known to intentionally undervalue the customs invoice to try and get around VAT and duties. That is tax evasion and illegal. You're lucky if they only confiscated it, they could actually hold you responsible for the evasion attempt as you are technically the importer.

The only savings they actually offer is through you illegally importing and participating in tax evasion.

Also worth noting that the packages I have seen from them are not packed or shipped for dangerous goods transit. Nothing like the warm, fuzzy thought when flying transatlantic knowing that there is likely a large bunch of flammable goods unsafely packed in the hold just so someone could smuggle in some cheap product :)

PS - I am sure you were unaware of this, just ranting in an attempt to help educate everyone else!

My friend is having the exact same problem with them .... I'll notify her of this thanks :)

Gosh I feel so dumb now. Only started in April and have been using gellish so thought Shellac would be a nice addition. Googled and found BB. Never entered my thick head about customs etc. :-(

Time to sign up with Sweet Squared !!! You will have no empty boxes delivered by them x

Don't feel dumb, you just weren't informed (like a lot of people who start buying online from other countries). Now you are!

Personally think its a topic that should be covered in professional courses. The dangers and risks are pretty serious stuff.

Best of luck and thanks for giving me an opportunity to help!

Sorry this happened to you! I know there's been stuff circulating about orders not received and speculation that customs seized them. Can I just ask how you know it was customs? Odd that they would just forward the empty box through. Or did you have other stuff that was just normal things that they wouldn't have cared about in the order (non-polish type things, like files or something)?

And I agree with The Geek, it would be nice for the courses to make mention of things like this.

This is like me. They told me they shipped it out. 8th of August and when I asked them where it had got to they said it had passed customs and has just been held up. Feel I've been scammed. It's my own fault. Definitely sticking to reputable brands and authorised stockists from now on. The only reason I ordered is because they had an old OPI colour I needed and couldn't get elsewhere. Thought it's free delivery over £99 and thought I get a few more bits and pieces. So angry at myself :/ p

Hi, I wasn't being horrible by what I said. I do feel for you but I can say most of have ordered stuff from places and lost out !!!! It's a hard and an expensive lesson to learn. I don't suppose you can get a refund can you ? Did you order a lot of stuff ? X

Contact your card company and tell them to charge it back, you haven't done anything wrong at all here, BB are responsable for the export ie all documentation should be in order...what smells funny here is the customs bit, they wouldn't confiscate something like this, if they see it is under valued they would hold it whilst the correct value is placed on it. Don't accept this! And yes in the future buy your American stuff from a UK supplier

She may be able to get a charge back, but BB are not the responsible party here (well, not entirely). There are rules and regulations that HMRC expects you to abide by when you import commercial goods.

I'll phone the bank first thing Monday morning! Absolutely devastated! I spent just over £100 so not the end of the world but very annoying! If something's to good to be true...it probably is!! Lesson learned. Thanks geeks xx

It's the same with Amazon - beware xx

Just an update ladies my friend has just received her Beverly beauty order after 6 weeks !!!! There's a good end to this one but seriously 6 weeks horrendous and personally you'd have lost my custom if that was me but I buy from ellisons so have never had any bother with them :)

This website actually doesn't say where they are right off the bat, find it quite deceiving actually :(
You can only find it on their shipping page.

Hi there... I am fairly new to this, I have trained professionally and have followed all the advice given and am trying to find my way out there, but ordered a reasonable amount of product from Beverley Beaute and it arrived with one bottle broken so you can imagine the mess. Having now read up on them I fully understand the issues (now) with buying these products from abroad and no, I won't do it again now I know that we shouldn't do it (and I have bought far more from UK suppliers), but their customer service is appalling! it is plainly obvious to me that they are going out of their way to try to avoid replacing any of my items. They continually insist that I do not have the right order number even when I type it and insert a photo of it... they just don't want to know. For the trouble it would not be worth dealing with them, even if it was legal! I think with Beverley Beaute some you lose... and some you lose!

I ordered off them once before and got my order no problem - next order never arrived. For about 8 weeks I got told its on its way it's on its way. Never arrived. Luckily I paid by credit card and phoned my credit card company and they refunded the money straight away. You're insured if you've paid by credit card. If you did pay this way phone them and you'll get your money back. Then register with sweet squared the service is great and you're guaranteed the real products. Good luck and I hope you get your money back 😊x x
