Hi all, the last 8 inches of hair is bleached highlights and the rest is tint 10.??. I want to go darker, my base is an 8 with quite alot of red. I want to use majirel 8.13, 9.13 and 10.13 or wella equivalent shades.

Am i best doing a bleach bath, re pig then colour?

when you say 8.13 9.13 and 10.13 are you wanting all these colours as in foils or full head colour ????

I'm guessing your thinking tint won't lift tint.

also the shades you have chose wont look much different! I'd use 7.13 with a bit of 6.32, in full head foils then I'd run 9.13 or close to this in dia light through the rest to tone it down x

not a professional, thats why i asked but have messed around with colouring my hair for years.

So i've got a wedding coming up and after reading your replies and other posts i decided to pay someone to do it at a hairdressers.

my hair had lots and lots of hightlights and a 10 tint on it and I wanted this

MAJIREL | L'Oréal Professionnel UK

and this is how its done

http://lorealprofessionnel.co.uk/sit...20posterV3.pdf

I took this with me and showed them the picture and the instructions, they said it wouldnt work, and i would have to go darker, a 6.something with some highlights. I believed them and now my hair looks a dark mossy green with some grey streaks.

what do you think, i cant even look at it

If you're not a hairdresser we can't advise you on colouring your own hair. No matter if you have access to pro products.

PS - your profile needs updating to remove hair if you are not a hair professional.

Kayapapaya - no im not a hair pro but am everything but for that. It was just a bit of advise thats all. Perhaps you should reconsider commenting on colouring when you are not qualified to do so quote "Forgive me for being presumptuous but I thought colouring was covered in hair courses? Certainly the basics in NVQ training? I haven't yet covered colouring - only how to apply foils using talc and conditioning cream - as I'm VRQ 2 but will next year when I do my NVQ2."

Thank you for all your comments a very nice pro just sorted it all out for me.

LOL.
Did I give you any technical advice? No I did not.
Am I training, yes I am.

Glad someone helped you out. Against forum rules but hey. I suppose you were pretending you were a hair pro.

Notices
If you are looking for advice and you are not a hair professional, then please post your query in the Consumer Queries forum.

OK so this ended up in Consumer eventually, but the only advice that can be given is to go to a salon for a consultation re colour.
Pros are not going to give advice on how to colour hair and with what tint, without actually seeing a client and her hair.

Also there is no need to take umbrage about this as it is the site rules...and common sense!

Nothing further to discuss so I shall close.
