Bleach bath before colour remover?? Does anyone do this?
I have a client that's been using box colours black her natural colour is quiet red which she hopefully wants to go back too....am I right in thinking that you have to apply a semi or a tint with 20 vol over the colour removed hair to get the colour that's wanted?

I've read on here that bleach bath first is better, especially with box colours or built up, it opens the cuticle up I think.
I applied a permanent with 20 vol. but also read semi better.
Also the colour remover will only take the hair to the lightest it was previously ie if she was once dyed to 8/0 and then went to 3/0 when you've used remover it will only lift back to the 8/0.

Thanku for replying I've just done the colour erase its only really lifted 1 shade lighter because of the colour build up it was jet black its now a dark brown ...only problem is it worked on her roots which she's a copper naturally about a 7 level ...I did bleach bath but it didn't make a difference ...gonna give it another go on Friday x

I've strand tested it now and colour erased it another 2 times and the black is not really going ... Any ideas??

blondi rae it missy. The product is fantastic. We've done so many colour correction jobbies recently and then we had no hope with a certain live xxl brand to shift, our colour remover did not take and since then we havent gone back. Lifts artifical colour neatly and you can colour at least 2 shades lighter afterwards. We tend to use our matrix colour sync afterwards. But i would seriously invest xoxo

I've been using blondi Rae ....I thought I'd had a bad batch but I tried it on a strand of mine and it worked ...it has only really lifted 1 shade lighter after 3 attempts....can you use heat with it do you know x

What's her natural base?
What remover are you using?

We dont use heat, we just follow the instructions to a tee.

Personally i would blondi rae it and flood it with highlights/tone. If the hair can take it. It will lift better but these dreaded box dyes are the bane of my life, it really does shift where colour erase didnt. So i would recommend fortnightly visits until the desired target shade is showing. hths xoxo

Her natural base is about a 7 very ginger ...I put a bleach bath on first which in places I noticed a green tinge coming through it is really heavily covered with box colour . I'm going back Friday to try again ...just gutted she was my model to test blondi Rae as I'd not used it b4 so I'm gonna be out of pocket

what did you bleach bath with and for how long?

with colour removers, you should always be preapred to have to repeat the process...i think ive only ever done it once where i didnt need to repeat it.

I used bleach 20 vol and warm water ....it had an awful greeny blue tinge colour coming through on top and went really dry ...after I'd put the first lot of Blondi Rae buffer on too I noticed it went like cardboard (if you understand what I mean) nit sure if this is normal....condition felt fine after though

should bleach bath with 10 vol and clarifying shampoo.

never used blondi rae so dont know much about it but its fairly similar to affinage.

give it a couple more applications and it should be fine.
