I'm a newby to applying tips and blending... So bare with me :) When I blend, the nail is completely smooth from the natural nail to the tip, but the line is never invisible. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this happen? I don't want to use tip blender as I don't think it's good for the nail / tip and plus I want to learn how to blend it properly without using something to fix it. Any ideas would be appreciated thanks X

Are you starting from the middle section in blending? Blend the middle part using a 180 grit and then blend the sides to match the middle part of the blended tip. When you are almost reaching the "invisible" point which is when you are almost blending it, go gently on it with the file.

Thanks Joe. I start at the edge as this was how it was taught in my course but I will try blending from the middle first and then go gently when it's starting to fade see if this works thanks

Cool, you can also use an alcohol wipe to help you look if its blended enough.

You could always try different tips too, some are easier to blend than others x

What tips are u currently using

The quality of the tips you're using can make a huge difference to both the ease of filing and final appearance.

Thanks all. I'm using the cuccio ultra wear masterpack tips, these were used in my course X

Like others have said the quality of the tips will help but also remember that everyone nails are different and some nail 'arches ' seem easier to get right than others . I never have problems blending but been doing it a long time . I do not start in the middle I start at the left hand side and work my way across . When I feel it is blended I then wipe with my cleanser and as that evaporates there should be no visible line

I use our Performance tips which are particularly easy to blend

Do you pre blend your tips before applying?

No I dont sammi . The performance tips are 'cut out' well so there is only a small contact area anyway . No need to pre blend

Thanks everyone :) I might try the tips you have suggested perfect 10 X
