I have a client who would like to go back to a base 7/8. As you can see highly bleached hair and natural roots of a base7/8. I have just gone back to hairdressing working for myself over the last 2 years after being out of it for 16. Just wanted advise for what to use to fill before colour then overall colour. I use XP colours from salon services and also wella. Thanks in advance.

You’ll need to add gold but if it’s very porous, use a porosity equaliser beforehand.
Stick with a Demi or a semi, depending on what brand you use.

Also, as she’s used to being very light, she might actually panic at a level 7 (plenty do!) so maybe suggest she goes down to an 8 with some 9 mixed in or has lots of lowlights to break up the platinum.

Great thanks! So just to clarify you'd use Demi permanent to fill then permanent to cover? She seems to have her head round going all dark so will go for the full colour.

No, use a semi to fill and a Demi to cover. Generally, I’d never use a permanent when re-colouring very lightened hair. It simply won’t last as you need a mix of molecule sizes.

Brill thanks!
