* L’Oreal or Wella only *so my client has been coming to me for years, we recently went from a base 6 to a base 4, using 4.15 in L’Oreal luo colour. The colour has faded off fast because of of a previous balayage and quite warm, from the 6.35 used previously. She is now wanting that perfect navy blue black hair colour.. would I need to pre lighten the hair? If so, what to? Or can I just use 2.10 and blue maji mix, if so, what formula? Never done blue black before. I’ve attached a photo of what colour she wants.

If it faded fast, presumably it’s very porous so you’d be better off using a semi.
What colour(s) is it now?
You need to formulate based on the current colour and condition.

So it’s faded to like a base 5 on the roots and mid lengths and her ends are like a warm base 6 from where she’s had balayage before. Her condition isn’t bad but it isn’t like groundbreakingly good. It would be fine to bleach though. What would you suggest? I don’t want it to go just dark - want the navy to be obvious but not like bright blue x

I think you’ll need to do a strand test to be sure.

Ideas to try:

On lightened hair
30ml 10/0 and 2-3'' 0/88 KP with pastel developer
30ml 8/81 and 2” 2/88 CTouch with 1.9 developer
