Hello everyone .......................yet again i have another Brisa question! lol :irked:

Done my conversion couple of weeks ago. For tips and overlay (french) this is what we done;

1 - All ordinary prep etc is done
2 - Small bead of gel in zone 2 building up shape, and taking some gel back to zone 3
3 - Again as above - clear up free edge with scrub fresh
4 - Paint white free edge on
5 - Again as above
6 - Layer of clear over whole nail
7 - Finish with top coat

Obvioulsy working on 2 nails at a time, curing inbetween. But i was reading nailclass last night (Brush Control with Gel) said Brisa control is different refer to specific instructions. So i read my booklet which we were given. I noticed in there the procedure is different to what i ws taught. Such as they do a layer of gel over the whole nail in the beginning, and only do one bead of gel in zone 2 building shape, where as we done 2!

Why is that? What do other people follow? Does it come down to pesonal choice?

I would love to hear from people, as im getting confused with what im meant to be doing and in what order

MANY THANKS
Claire Xxx

Hiya...You should be doing a base layer first...this is a very thin layer that is applied to the nail (after tipping) in a sort of circular motion...almost scrubbed into the nail...this layer is very important and should have been covered in your training...certainly was in mine, and i do believe that Creative follow the same meathod of training regardless who your teacher is.

I would stick with how Geeg explains it in her book. HTH xxx

Thanks for your help. On the day we certainly werent told about it.

Just been reading Geeg's questions and answers on Brisa. On there it says the base leyer shouldnt go on like nail varnish, where in the workbook we were given it says if the nail has been cleaned and prep is all right, it should glide on smoothly like enamel! lol

I seem to be reading conflicting advice and it makes it so hard!

Thanks again Xxx

I can understand your confusion and I am sorry about it.

When you are new to something it is hard to understand that things can be done many ways and still work.

You DO need a base layer (bonder layer of gel) and you DO need to 'work' it onto the prepared nailplate that has had the Bonder liquid applied to it.

Thanks very much Geeg. I love the product, really fab and so good to use. Just wanted to make sure im doing it right!

THANKS AGAIN Xxx

So if your putting a base layer on 1st, do you then only put 1 bead of gel into zone 2 to build shape. As we were doing that twice?

You can build in either one or 2 beads depending on how thin the nailplate of the client is.

For example if the client has thin nails and you think she may feel a heat spike ... then build in 2 layers with 2 beads. If she has normal nail plates, then you can build sufficient strength in zone 2 using only one bead.

There is not a right vs wrong situation here. Heck you could build in 3 or 4 layers if you had the time or wanted to.

Usually I find that I can build the required strength in one go. But we are all different and you must adopt the technique that works best for you. You will not be doing anything WRONG if your technique varies from the one shown to students. Have fun with Brisa and relax.

Thats helped me a lot, thank you

Ive got a skill building day coming up week after next. Looking forward to that now.

My tutor at college kept telling me i was a perfectionist, and should relax :smack: lol.............i will try Xxx
